Default co-lo from globaltap - 12-09-2008 , 01:40 PM

What do you think of globaltap.com co-location services?
How reliable are they?
Their special seems attractive for me - Free 1U of space with 10mbps/month commitment for 6 months.
Any comments?

You might want to try a professional colo service provider (say cologuys.com). Globaltap seems to be concentrating on the Shared, VPS and Dedicated Server market.

You know globaltap.com provides high speed redundant reliable network, excellent connectivity to the Internet backbone via several bandwidth providers and many more on their co-lo.
Give them a try.

It happened so that if you want to buy colocation, the company's data center should be closer to your location. I can also recommend you to check ncisp.net and serverpoint.com because they both offers nice colocated servers at not very expensive price. And why do you not want to get dedicated server? I think it would be better to buy it.

If you are still interested in colocation servers I suggest you to deal with hqhost.net as it started to offer New Jersey colocation servers:

Quote:
# 42U Full Rack with 30Am/110V + Fixed Rate 1000 Mbps bandwidth - $6000 / месяц
# 1/2 Full Rack with 30Am/110V + 500 Mbps bandwidth - $3500 / месяц
# 42U Full Rack with 30Am/110V + 10 Mbs bandwidth - $990 /месяц
# 1U server - $65

What do you think guys about such configurations?

I wanna mention that serverpoint.com is one of those companies that has their own datacenter in Las Vagas and their take a good care of their servers themselves. That's why colocation service which they provide is dependable and servers have no downtime or any other issues.

colo from globaltap.com is definitely good idea, like any other hosting from the reliable provider. I suppose you just need to know if the datacenter location is suitable for your shipping and maintenance usability.

Everything looks good on the surface. But any company can offer bandwidth via Cogent and offer bottom of the barrel prices. I'm not be accusatory, just throwing that out there.
