What? There are resellers, usually they are hosting companies, which buy registrartion rights and then resell registration for higher price. They are not accredited by any corp for names and numbers (ICANN, CIRA, EURID etc). With accredited registrar (GoDaddy, EuroDNS, Enom, Directi) you will not have any problems, but resellers may cause some, like limited rights for regitered domain, which in fact doesn't belong to you, and you are unable to sell or even transfer it to another hosting! |

It seems to me that if the company you sign up and register domain name is reliable enough, you you can register domain even if it is not ICAN-accredited.

I can't disagree with you that you can register domain with non-ICAN-accredited company on terms if it has been working for about 7-10 years. |

As for me, I prefer to register domain name with ICAN-accredited company and never have any problem and be unworried.

Thanks for the answers guys, now I understood what it is. I think it's better to register with ICAN-accredited company.

So I am. If the company is entry-level one, you can loose your domain. |

I think that the difference here is that the companies who limit your rights are registering the domain for you, and they hold the rights, not you. You are then just allowed to use it, and if you happen to want to move it to a new server, you potentially can't. |
