Nameserver Charges

I am just curious as to what other resellers etc might charge their clients for their own nameservers?
I am just after purchasing some IPs and intend on providing them to current yearly subscribers to my service for free but say for those who have monthly subscriptions or free resellers, what would be an appropriate monthly fee to charge them for their nameservers?

We include 2 for free with every reseller account, any additional we charge $2.50 a month for each. Mainly covers the cost of the IP and some of the labor involved with setting it up.

I have them ordered. Just waiting for them to be delivered as the man says. Then I will be including them with all plans and charging monthly for additional ones.

Well, you don't need dedicated IPs for each reseller if you host your own DNS servers outside of your main servers. Here is the setup that I have planned, feel free to use it yourself:

- Purchase 2 small VPSs and setup CPanel DNS-Only on them. ~ Total Cost: $70/month - Make sure the VPSs are located in 2 different places so that you can have redundancy.
- Setup main CPanel server to push all DNS records to small VPSs
- Setup the nameservers ns1.nonbrandeddomain.com and ns2.nonbrandeddomain.com on the VPSs.
- Give resellers the same IPs as you used for the nameservers above to use for their private nameservers. With a little DNS zone magic, this works just fine!

***You might also want to make sure that your main CPanel server has a non-branded hostname such as server1.nonbrandeddomain.com. This accomplishes the same thing as giving resellers their own IP addresses and is still quite anonymous as there is no way to find the actual root host.

Hosts dont generally charge for that,well atleast they have a limit and then they charge about 3-5 Dollars per month.
