Default Problem with pop3 / Cppop - 11-17-2005 , 10:42 AM

In our servers with CPanel, there is a commom problem, the pop3 service (Cppop) is failing.
We have a monitoring system that checks the fail every 5mins.
The service fails and recovers it without technical assistance, but the problem is repeating always.
Anybody can help us and tell us why do it happen ? and how do we fix it ?

Thanks in advance

I checked log files and there isnīt reasons for this problem.
I checked the cron files too, and i found a cron that execute every 5 minutes. When i comment this line the problem have reduced but doesnīt dissappear. Iīm thinking to install maildir and leave cppop (Cpanelīs service).

Any opinion?

Regards.

Are you upgraded to the latest CPANEL and EXIM versions?

The others are right, there a literally a hundred reasons this could be occuring. I would need to get in there and have a look and monitor it. And also would be helpful if you posted some of the logs and error messages.

run a upcp and also change the cPanel version in /etc/cpupdate.conf

this should resolve this issue.
