Hello Friends
Bandwidth is amount of data transferred to and from a webhosting account. The most common examples of data transfer are: - Files and images being requested by your visitor's web browsers. - Files transferred to and from your domain using an FTP program. - Email messages received and sent from your domain. Bandwidth is renewed monthly and monitored every 24 hours. Our hosting accounts provide a very generous amount of bandwidth for your domains... more than most web hosts provide for the same size accounts! Thanks for reading Have a nice day |

bandwidth is nothing but the large amount of information that can be transmitted through a channel
and it is measured in hertz and according to computer science it is the available or consumed amount of data communication resources which is expressed in bits\s. |

Hello.
In this world of ever growing technological progression it is easy to fall by the wayside trying to keep up with all the lingo, with abbreviation after abbreviation, most of us don't even know where to start. So my willing friends here is a balls out explanation of bandwidth in its simple entirety. Ok the Bandwidth you receive with your hosting package can refer to your monthly allowance of data, In the Internet marketing game, digital bandwidth, network bandwidth or just bandwidth in general, is a measure of available data communication resources which are set in bit/s or multiples of it, for example kilobits (kbit/s), megabits (mbits), etc. Its a rate of data transfer, throughput or bit rate, that you have, or that you have to consume. The amount of bandwidth you consume is measured by the content on your site. For example videos are very bandwidth hungry, so the more video that is on your site and the more that it is watched is the determining factor of your bandwidth consumption. Thanks |

hi,
instead of making it complicated. bandwidth refers to the capacity of the cable or connection to delivering data. thanks, kevin |

Hi
Bandwidth is a term used to describe how much information can be transmitted over a connection. Bandwidth is usually given as bits per second, or as some larger denomination of bits, such as Megabits per second, expressed as kbit/s or Mbit/s. Bandwidth is a gross measurement, taking the total amount of data transferred in a given period of time as a rate, without taking into consideration the quality of the signal itself. Thanks |

bandwidth is the term that shows how much data has been transferred per month or per day, it does not mean that if u just brows any website or u upload the pic or watch any movie on any website , there is no difference in doing in those all activities, indeed whenever u brows any website, the data has been transferred , either u watch pic or just brows the pages. this can be in MB, GB or even in kb. i hope it is helpful for u.

Bandwidth is most familiar to consumers because of its use by hosting companies or internet service providers. The sense in which bandwidth is used by most web hosting companies, that is, as a measure of total data transferred in a month, is not strictly correct. This measurement is more rightly referred to as data transfer, but the use of bandwidth by hosting companies is so pervasive that it has become accepted by the general public.

In computer networks, bandwidth is often used as a synonym for data transfer rate - the amount of data that can be carried from one point to another in a given time period (usually a second). This kind of bandwidth is usually expressed in bits (of data) per second (bps). Occasionally, it's expressed as bytes per second (Bps). A modem that works at 57,600 bps hastwice the bandwidth of a modem that works at 28,800 bps. In general, a link with a high bandwidth is one that may be able to carry enough information to sustain the succession of images in a video presentation.
It should be remembered that a real communications path usually consists of a succession of links, each with its own bandwidth. If one of these is much slower than the rest, it is said to be a bandwidth bottleneck. |
